Yeah, i’m one of the several people that are watching this thread, hoping that something will come up. This adapter is supported by recent versions of the radeon driver as found in X.
HDMI audio should work automatically. But I really hope someday the open-source drivers are there.

Get a new ATI desktop board if you want to check compatibility. Their drivers are closed source – I believe VA helped them build them. I have this GPU in my laptop and using this driver I get acceptable performance for running compiz although it still isn’t great for full-screen video.
